Crowdfunding allows entrepreneurs to raise (usually) small amounts of capital from a large group of individuals via the Internet to finance their business venture. In Switzerland, the following crowd funding opportunities exist:

  • 100 Days is a Swiss crowd-funding platform.

  • Wemakeit is a Swiss crowd-funding platform for the creative industries

  • Swiss Starter is a Swiss equity Crowd-funding site

Angel investments​

Angel investments are typically the earliest equity investment in startup companies. Angel investors are almost always wealth individuals and commonly band together in investor networks. Usually, those networks are based on regionally, industry, or academic affiliation.

  • The startup platform AngelList offers a list over private angel investors active in Switzerland.

  • StartAngels Network is a non-profit association that links early stage start-up businesses with business angel investors. This list, list the prerequisites for project submission.

  • Business Angel Suisse invests in start-ups.

  • Go Beyond is another Swiss company that does early stage investing.

  • Mountain Partners is Swiss Angel investor.

Venture Capital​

Venture Capital is money invested in a project in which there is a substantial element at risk, typically a new or expanding business.

  • C-Crowd is a Swiss crowd-funding site that links entrepreneurs and investors, allowing for investments in return for becoming a shareholder.

  • 3wVentures invests seed money and venture capital in early stage technology startups.

  • Aravis Centure Capital invests in renewable energy and life sciences spaces.

  • redAlpine is a early stage investment company.

  • Creathor Venture is a European Venture Capital firm active is Switzerland.

  • Startup.ch, a Swiss platform for startups offers a list over investors and their investment areas.

Government Schemes

  • VentureKick was launched in 2009 as a national training program for innovative high-tech startups. The funding consists of grants and loans.
