Export

Over the years, Ghana has established itself as a prime destination for tourism, manufacturing and agro-processing and constitutes together with Nigeria the motors of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Ghana has been a member of the World Trade organization since January 1995 and has recently enacted a sound legal framework for the management of its oil trade. Ghana main exports are oil, gold, cocoa, bauxite and diamonds.

As per Ghana shipment data, 48% of Ghanaian exports by value were delivered to Asian countries, followed by 31.4% to European nations. Ghana shipped another 15% worth of commodities to fellow African countries.

Ghana is a beneficiary of ITC's Ethical Fashion Initiative which connects the fashion business to artisans in Africa and Haiti. In addition, ITC has developed a series of free online tools, which are the world's largest databases on trade statistics, tariff data, and rules of origin related to applicable free trade agreements. Additional tools offer export potential estimations, market price information, regional trade and investment data and much more. Learn more about ITC Market Analysis Tools
